Pampaloni for Barney's silver plate centerpiece bowl in Mid-Century Modern style, with an elegant, geometric design. It measures 10 1/2'' by 8'' by 5'' in height and bears hallmarks and the original tag as shown.

Pampaloni is an Italian-based silversmith. It was founded in 1902 in Florence by Ermindo Pampaloni. The original workshop was located near the iconic Ponte Vecchio. Through the decades — despite challenges including the two World Wars — the company persisted. In fact, after WWI the workshop temporarily halted typical silver work and produced submarine portholes, before returning to its silver-crafting roots. The business passed through generations: Ermindo’s son (Franco) expanded and modernized operations in the 1950s. Later, Gianfranco Pampaloni took the helm in 1981, transforming the company’s outlook — shifting from silver as a mere status symbol to silver as an art form and medium of creative expression. Pampaloni remains a family-owned workshop, now in its fourth generation, continuing to produce silver by hand — often from original boxwood moulds — alongside some pieces using more modern techniques like die-casting.
