Pair of English Victorian Sterling Silver 1867 Candlesticks as Classical Corinthian Columns
Pair of English sterling silver candlesticks from 1867 by Andrew Crespel and Thomas Parker in Victorian style of impressive grandeur. Shaped as classical, Greco-Roman Corinthian columns, they stand on a base where there are noble heraldic symbols, raised foliage motifs, and fluted motifs, similarly to the column itself. These candlesticks measure 13 2/3'' in height and their square base measures 6'' in length. Exceptionally, they are not weighted and weigh 59.4 ozt; they bear hallmarks as shown.
Works by Andrew Crespel and Thomas Parker were sold at Christie's auctions.
