Jones, Ball & Poor coin silver pitcher, made between 1846 and 1853, with beautiful engraved floral motifs and an octagonal body with pleasant proportions. It measures 11 1/3'' in height by 6 1/4'' in depth by 7'' from handle to spout, weighs 31 troy ounces, and bears hallmarks as shown.
Jones, Ball & Poor was a Boston-based silversmithing firm in operation from 1846 to 1853. The firm was successors to Jones, Lows & Ball, established from 1839 to 1846 and was succeeded by Jones, Ball & Co. The firm advertised in the Boston Directory in 1849.
